XSYKO BLOG EXCLUSIVE

An Exclusive interview with a friend from Destin, Florida The news dominating world headlines for the last few days has been that of Hurricane Katrina which has prompted a massive evacuation. The storm with powerful winds and intense rain has left more than 50 people dead. This Hurricane is been called one of the strongest to have hit the US Gulf Coast. I was able to catch up with one of my very close friends residing in Destin, Florida. He is more of a brother to me than a friend. I was able to spend a few minutes with him asking about how Hurricane Katrina has affected his life. Below is the interview. He does not wish to be named. Before the interview officially began, one of the things he mentioned about the Hurricane was:
"catastrophic!"
XSYKO BLOG >> Tell us about Hurricane Katrina. How would you describe it? Friend from Destin >> Hmm..mother nature at her best, or rather worst should i say! it would have been as bad, if not worse than our Tsunami [26th Dec 2004] if they hadnt seen it coming! Two of my friends just lost their homes. XSYKO BLOG >> How has the hurricane affected you and your normal way of life? Friend from Destin >> You just feel for people you know, dont have to be your own, but, husbands lookin for wives and kids looking for their parents.. It's just awful, realy being here doesnt help. Everything's changed for the moment.. The whole atmosphere, its just sad. XSYKO BLOG >> Any risk of the hurricane heading that direction? Friend from Destin >> Nah, just felt a little of the after effects and all that, you know, heavy rain and winds.. But we were safe, was heading right towards us 2 days ago though, selfish thing to say, but I am glad it didnt come this way, no way my housing could withstand that!! I would have lost everything, assuming I wouldn't have lost my life! XSYKO BLOG >> So your not in the critical region then. Tell us a bit about where you reside. Friend from Destin >> Destin, about a 4 hour drive to New Orleans, which was the worst hit. But all our beaches are no more. Was just scary and unbelievable to see. Amazing, in a very scary sense. XSYKO BLOG >> What has the state asked of the people to do at this time? Friend from Destin >> Mandatory evacuation. We were just on the watch list. They were contemplating, but as the hurricane was moving away from us, we didnt have to. XSYKO BLOG >> Lastly, what would be your message to the people affected in the hurricane and their families if you had a chance to say anything to them? Friend from Destin >> What can you say that will make a person who has lost his family feel better? All I can do is kind of be there you know, everyone is shocked, just one of those things only time can heal. Some of the things he mentioned after the interview:
"the sea was soo rough... was fascinating! like 12 foot waves"
"we got the best beaches in the US and they are very nice! well.. i could officialy say, they use to be. lots of sand washed away!"
I would like extend my thanks to my friend/brother in Destin for giving us a more personalised view of the event that has left the people of America and the world in shock. I would also like to pass my deepest condolences to the families affected in the Hurricane. May God be with you all and may He give you strength. My prayers will be with everyone. SPECIAL MOVIE ALERT Aeon Flux is here! Aeon who you ask? Well if you dont know Aoen Flux, then just skip this entire post. But for those who know Aeon Flux, the hot super chick who busts ass from MTV's own creation is now here in the flesh and I should say they found the perfect chick to play Ms.Flux - Charlize Theron Her voice is so Aeon Flux-y. I remember watching this show (anime) back in the 1990's and I it was just so kick-ass! Well MTV Films, Lakeshore Studios and Paramount has got together and has brought this to life even though it has taken then a long while! But I aint complaining cos, better late than never eh? Watch out for Aoen Flux kicking into cinemas on December 2nd! TRAILER LINK

XSYKO's Back!

Hello to everyone who has visited my site in the past few weeks. I am back! I was just occupied with some personal stuff during the summer holidays and didn't have time to update the site. I wanted to write about the London Bombings too which came as a major shock to me and to many people around the world too. Focusing on things close to home, we have seen some shocking developments as well. Maldives, the capital - Male' saw some of the most unexpected situation during the last few weeks mainly after the 12-13th of August. For the 1st time I was actually impressed at how our Special Task Force and Military has developed over these few years. Although I am on neither side, I wish to keep my opinions to myself for many reasons. In Sri Lanka, the Foreign Minister's assassination came as a big surprise as well to me mainly because a few minutes before I read on BBC that he was shot and taken to hospital and few minutes later I read he passed away. May God bless him. My deepest condolensces to his family and relatives. Shedding light to other news and things on lighter note after these major events, we are gonna been seen a power packed year - end of this year and early next, in the movies division. Check the posts above for more info! Glad to be back! Thanx for dropping by, XSYKO
